Despite competition rising from free AI content tools and an extensive pool of freelancers, landing a paid job as a new writer in 2023 is still possible.

Way harder than a few years ago, but possible.

I've put together a list of beginner-friendly websites, and yes, many of them are content mills, which means you will produce lower-quality work for peanuts. That’s the harsh truth.

But if you want to get in the game, you gotta start somewhere.

I recommend always looking at it from a positive perspective — content mill companies are more likely to hire beginners, giving you a chance to earn reviews, experience, and skills.

After this, you’ll be able to advance to better work, higher-paying clients, and more exciting work. (I’m talking from my own experience now.)

The definition of a beginner

Being a beginning writer doesn’t mean you never wrote a single word — it rather means that you haven’t written for clients or have any professional writing experience.

Thus, even when applying for entry-level jobs, you should already have some basic writing skills and, most importantly, writing samples.

How to approach writing websites

I’ve checked reviews for every website and have stumbled upon mixed reviews in each case.

Some writers were happy about the place, payments, and overall system, while others labeled it a scam. Funny enough, I’ve tried some of these websites and got paid for my work, and yet, I’ve found reviews claiming making money here is impossible.

Thus, many of these reports are biased, meaning you should always try and see for yourself.

Just keep potential losses to a minimum. If you don’t get paid for a blog post that took two hours to write, it’s not the end of the world. At the same time, don’t bother writing a 50,000-word e-book if you don’t have a 100% payment guarantee.
