Despite competition rising from free AI content tools and an extensive pool of freelancers, landing a paid job as a new writer in 2023 is still possible.

Way harder than a few years ago, but possible.

I've put together a list of beginner-friendly websites, and yes, many of them are content mills, which means you will produce lower-quality work for peanuts. That’s the harsh truth.

But if you want to get in the game, you gotta start somewhere.

I recommend always looking at it from a positive perspective — content mill companies are more likely to hire beginners, giving you a chance to earn reviews, experience, and skills.

After this, you’ll be able to advance to better work, higher-paying clients, and more exciting work. (I’m talking from my own experience now.)

The definition of a beginner

Being a beginning writer doesn’t mean you never wrote a single word — it rather means that you haven’t written for clients or have any professional writing experience.
